Each minute we spend worrying about the future and regretting the past is a minute we miss in our appointment with life – a missed opportunity to engage life and to see that each moment gives us the chance to change for the better, to experience peace and joy.
It would be foolish to despise tradition. But with our growing self-consciousness and increasing intelligence we must begin to control tradition and assume a critical attitude toward it, if human relations are ever to change for the better.
Everything changes for the better when you take ownership of your own problems.
No great improvements in the lot of mankind are possible until a great change takes place in the fundamental constitution of their modes of thought.
Be the change you want to see in your networks
My own growth comes not (just) individually, but mainly as part of a greater change for the better.
I feel the suffering of millions. And yet, when I look up at the sky, I somehow feel that every-thing will change for the better, that this cruelty too shall end, that peace and tranquility will return once more.
If we stepped away from so much of the victimhood talk, I think that would make a big change for the better. It does limit art. The conversation wouldn’t just be one-sided.
It is the nature of a person as he/she grows older to protest against change, particularly changes for the better.
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.
We can always find a reason to praise. Situations change for better and for worse, but God’s worth never changes.
Usually, when the distractions of daily life deplete our energy, the first thing we eliminate is the thing we eliminate is the thing we need the most: quiet, reflective time. Time to dream, time to contemplate what’s working and what’s not, so that we can make changes for the better.
If anything is certain, it is that change is certain. The world we are planning for today will not exist in this form tomorrow.
When you find yourself thinking about someone or something in the same old negative way, just stop yourself. Think. Check. Change. Refresh. Job done. Smile. Move on. Do this enough times and you will change. For the better; for the stronger.
I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.
Things change for the better when we take responsibility for our own thoughts, decisions and actions.
